Hey! I’m Emily and I started A Time to Kale in 2013 because I just had so. much. to say about food! I’m originally from Seattle but have been in Austin since 2012, working in restaurant marketing, social media, and content writing. I’ve also been blogging and freelancing about food, travel, and entertainment since 2008… needless to say, it’s a real blurred lines situation between my personal life and professional life.
While I’m always on the hunt for buzzy new restaurants and I regularly treat myself to a glass of wine or four, health and fitness are important to me, too, so I do a lot of home cooking and meal prepping.
My short(ish) list of essential eats & drinks: avocado, champagne, watermelon, coconut, kombucha, shrimp cocktail, Thai food, sushi, and red wine.
When I’m not musing about all things food & wine, I love to travel, run, host overly ambitious dinner parties, hit up my local barre and cycling studios, talk to my dogs like they’re people, obsess over true crime, and binge-watch trashy TV shows.
