Seeing as how it’s Halloween and I’m obsessed/terrified of all things ghost, I thought this would be the perfect time to introduce the scaaaary new Ghost Hill Restaurant… scary delicious, that is!
(Sorry. I know how dumb that was.)
But Ghost Hill is not dumb, Ghost Hill is awesome. It’s the new bar & restaurant out at Treaty Oak Distillery in Dripping Springs! You might not realize how many boozy delights are under one brand. Treaty Oak encompasses: Treaty Oak Rum, Treaty Oak Barrel Reserve, Waterloo Gin, Waterloo Antique, Graham’s Texas Tea, Starlite Vodka and Red-Handed Bourbon. And now…Ghost Hill Restaurant! Finally some food to pair with all that liquor and beer.
The good folks at Treaty Oak invited a bunch of media and bloggers (myself included, obviously) to check out the new digs and I have to say, I forgot how dang beautiful it is out there. Worth the 45 minute drive outside of Austin. We were treated to a variety of cocktails and snacks, and every single thing was a delight.
Ghost Hill has a variety of cocktails on tap, and somehow the novelty of that still hasn’t worn off! Especially when you have one of my personal favorites, and mojito. Treaty Oak is also a brewery – choose from IPA, blonde, amber, and more. Something for everyone.
As far as food, this is Texas, so I’ll give you one guess… BBQ! They have a smoker onsite and they’re churning out some excellent meats. I especially loooved the pork spare ribs (with an Asian-inspired sesame-bourbon glaze!) and a banh mi sandwich made with their smoked brisket.
Next time you’re looking for a mini road trip, checking out Treaty Oak and eating at Ghost Hill is the perfect plan. Keep in mind they aren’t open alllll the time; according to the website, current hours for the restaurant are:
- Thursday 4pm – 9pm
- Friday 4pm – 9pm
- Saturday 12pm – 9pm
- Sunday 12pm – 6pm
Ghost Hill Restaurant is located at 16604 Fitzhugh Rd, Dripping Springs, Texas 78620.
